Twitter permanently banned the founder and editor-in-chief of the Gateway Pundit, Jim Hoft, on Saturday for violating the platform’s “civic integrity policy.” The move came shortly after the site temporarily suspended Gateway Pundit reporter Cassandra Fairbanks.
Conservative journalist Cassandra Fairbanks reported on Monday morning that assailants showed up to her home and began firing off guns and fireworks in the middle of the night. Fairbanks noted that her home address was posted online last week, leading to hundreds of death threats.
Social media giant Twitter has failed to remove or tag a rapper’s tweet for “glorifying violence” more than 18 hours after it was posted. Rapper Key Nyaya threatened journalist Cassandra Fairbanks with his post, saying: “maybe you need a bullet in the back of your skull.”
The Ecuadorian embassy in London reportedly locked journalist Cassandra Fairbanks in a room for over an hour during a visit to see WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and was eventually given just under ten minutes to speak with him, despite being booked for a two-hour meeting. Fairbanks reportedly overheard a conversation between Assange and an ambassador during which Assange accused the embassy of illegally surveilling him.
