140 Million Gallons of Raw Tijuana Sewage Flowed into the U.S.

Bad luck from a combination of heavy rains hitting during the replacement of a large Tijuana waste water pipe caused 140 million gallons of untreated raw sewage to flow north for 17 days into the United States, and then out to the Pacific Ocean.

Gaza Sewage Causes Water Crisis

TEL AVIV – Millions of gallons of sewage from Gaza poured every day into the Mediterranean is destroying Palestinian and Israel’s freshwater supplies as well as local fishing zones, the Associated Press reported.

Superbugs Could Pollute Pacific Ocean

The Environmental Protection Agency has found the lethal “superbug,” carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), in a sewage plant in Los Angeles that treats waste and releases it into the Pacific Ocean.

Sewage Spills from Tijuana to Coronado

On Sunday, the pristine, golden mica-flecked beaches of Coronado were hit with contamination warnings as sewage from the Tijuana River, swollen by recent rains, flowed north.
