CBS News Poll: Obama Won Debate 53-23%

According to a snap CBS News poll of 521 uncommitted viewers the third and final presidential debate, a full 53% of viewers thought that President Barack Obama emerged victorious, compared to just 23% who thought Romney won. 24% thought the two candidates tied.

After the debate 64% said that Obama would do a better job on terrorism and national security issues, compared with just 36% for Romney. But on China, the voters were split 50% to 50%. And when it came to trust numbers, 49% said they would trust Romney to handle an international crisis, compared with 71% for Obama.

The most important statistic is still that top one, though. In a foreign policy debate, tie tends to go to the challenger. Adding the ties to the wins, Obama outpaces Romney by a mere 53% to 47% margin.
