Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the appointment of a new first assistant in what appears to be an office shake-up. Paxton appointed Jeff Mateer to be the new first assistant. Los Zetas Civil War Spreading to Multiple Mexican Border States

The bloody civil war that has taken hold of the Mexican city of Ciudad Victoria has begun to spillover to other cities in Tamaulipas and the neighboring state of Nuevo Leon. The war expanded while two rival factions of the Los Zetas drug cartel continue to fight for control of trafficking territories. Local news outlets have largely ignored most of the violence in Tamaulipas.

Troopers Seize $53 Million in Drugs, Cash in Texas Panhandle During 2015

A new report from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reveals that troopers seized over $53 million in drugs and cash during calendar year 2015. The drugs and cash were seized by DPS troopers during 137 traffic stops and investigations that took place along the Interstate 40 corridor and other highways in the Texas panhandle region last year, according to a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas.
