The Ground Zero Mosque and Double Standards

$100,000,000.00 to build a mosque so close to Ground Zero that an historic building will have to be torn down. This building is so close to “Ground Zero” that part of one of the hijacked planes tore through its roof.

Why is it that only America must ignore the injustices of terrorism, forgive, and forget the atrocities committed against us by Islamic fanatics? The whole world including Islam comes down on us when prisoners of war in our custody are “mistreated.” These fanatics are allowed to cut off heads, mutilate bodies, and blow up innocent men, women and children all without much outrage from the Islamic community. But let us oppose a Mosque to be built near “Ground Zero” and the controversy never stops.

Suppose a fanatical group of Christians flew planes into the Dubai World Trade Centre and then Christians wanted to build a $100,000,000.00 cathedral just down the street. We know that it would never happen. We know that Christians would never be given a pass the likes of the pass given to Islam for 9/11.

There are those who would say just because the government of Dubai would not tolerate a Cathedral doesn’t mean we should do the same. However it is not our government that opposes a Mosque near ground zero, it is the American people.

“Let me be clear,” to use one of President Obama’s idiom’s, if Muslims wants to help heal the wounds of 9/11, they should help facilitate the 9/11 memorial, not “poke a stick in my eye!”
