Migrant Apprehensions at Border Jump 16 Percent in September

The apprehension of migrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry jumped again. The nearly 55,000 migrants arrested in September marks the fifth-straight month of increased apprehensions. However, apprehensions for the year fell by 53 percent from the previous year’s total.

$10M in Drugs Seized at Texas Port of Entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo, Texas, seized more than $10 million in methamphetamine, marijuana, and cocaine in four smuggling incidents. The seizures occurred during smuggling interdictions over a two-day period.

Laredo ‘Ground Zero’ for Meth Smuggling, Says U.S. Attorney

Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo, Texas, seized nearly 500 pounds of methamphetamine in two incidents at separate ports of entry on August 10. Following the seizure of the nearly $10 million in drugs, U.S. Attorney Ryan Patrick called the region “ground zero” for meth smuggling.

360 Pounds of Meth Seized at Texas Border Crossings

Rio Grande Valley Sector Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 360 pounds of methamphetamine during three failed drug smuggling attempts at South Texas border crossings. The seizures took nearly $8 million in drugs out of the hands of cartel-connected smugglers.

Feds Recover 14 Migrants, 82 Pounds of Meth from Capsized Smuggling Boat

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations aircrew teamed up with a Coast Guard vessel to rescue 14 people from a capsized human smuggling boat. During the interdiction, officials found three packages containing 82 pounds of methamphetamine in the water off the coast of San Diego, California.

WATCH: BORSTAR Agents Rescue 3 Dehydrated Migrants in Desert

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued three migrants who became lost and dehydrated in the desert in two incidents over the weekend. A video tweeted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan shows a Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) paramedic agent responding to assist in the rescue.

565 Pounds of Liquid Meth Seized on Bus at Texas Border Crossing

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than 565 pounds of liquid methamphetamine on a commercial bus attempting to enter from Mexico. The seizure occurred in the Del Rio Sector at the Camino Real International Bridge connecting Eagle Pass, Texas, and Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
