Islamic State Claims Deadly Uganda Suicide Bombings

A local affiliate of the Islamic State terror group claimed responsibility for three suicide bombings in Kampala, Uganda’s national capital, on Tuesday that killed three people and forced an evacuation of the nation’s parliament, Uganda’s Daily Monitor reported.

At Least 43 Killed in Afghanistan Mosque Bombing

A Shiite mosque in northeastern Afghanistan was attacked by a suicide bomber during prayer services on Friday, killing at least 43 people and injuring over 100 according to local officials. The Islamic State swiftly claimed responsibility for the blast.

Taliban Says at Least Five Civilians Killed in Kabul Mosque Bombing

A spokesman for the Taliban’s interior ministry said at least five civilians were killed by a bomb at the Eid Gah Mosque in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on Sunday. At least four people were also wounded in the bombing, which apparently targeted a funeral service held at the mosque for the mother of Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

Indonesia Identifies Palm Sunday Bombers as Islamic State Newlyweds

Indonesian police said on Monday that the perpetrators of the Palm Sunday suicide bombing attack on a cathedral in Makassar were a married couple that belonged to an extremist group allied with the Islamic State. The bombers were the only fatalities in the attack, which injured about twenty people.

10-Year-Old Girl Used as Human Bomb in Nigeria Attack

A 10-year-old girl used as suicide bomber detonated an explosive and killed herself in a New Year’s Eve attack in Maiduguri, Nigeria. Although no group or individual has said they are responsible for the attack, using women and little girls is consistent with the tactics of the ISIS-affiliated group Boko Haram.
