18K Migrant Gotaways Reported in 1st 16 Days of New Year, Says USBP Chief

Border Patrol officials report that more than 18,000 migrants are known to have crossed the border without being apprehended during the first 16 days of FY24. During that same period, dozens of “Special Interest Aliens” from countries known to have ties to terrorism were apprehended. These two reports beg the question of just how many “Special Interest Aliens” are included in the gotaways.

281 Human Smuggling Stash Houses Busted in FY23 in Single Texas Border Sector

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents raided more than 280 human smuggling stash houses during the recently ended Fiscal Year 2023. The raids on the stash house operations in far West Texas and southern New Mexico led to the apprehension of more than 3,600 migrants who were in the process of being smuggled into the U.S. interior.

Exclusive: 24K Chinese Migrants Apprehended at Southwest Border in FY 2023

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 24,000 migrants from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) along the Southwest border during fiscal year 2023, according to a DHS report reviewed by Breitbart Texas. The report, provided by a source within the agency, shows the increase in apprehensions of migrants from the communist regime represents a more than 1,115 percent increase from the 1,987 apprehended the previous year.

Migrant Surge in Texas Border Town Outpacing Haitian Crisis of 2021

An estimated 1,500 mostly Venezuelan migrants entered the small border town of Eagle Pass, Texas,  during the late evening hours on Tuesday. The latest group of migrants to surrender to authorities brings the eight-day total of migrant crossings to more than 16,000. It took ten full days in September 2021 for 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants to ford the river during the infamous immigration surge in Del Rio.

1,800 Migrants Pour into Texas Border Town in Single Day as Crisis Continues

According to a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, nearly 1,800 migrants were apprehended entering the small Texas border town of Eagle Pass, Texas, on Monday. Nearly 1,400 migrants made landfall along the Rio Grande in the heart of the downtown area. The migrants were quickly moved to a Border Patrol processing facility that is already nearly five times over its capacity of 1,000 migrants.

Exclusive: Migrant Released by Biden Admin Arrested for Texas Border Town Murder

A migrant released by the Biden administration to pursue an asylum claim was arrested by Texas Rangers as a suspect in the murder of a Houston man in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Monday. According to a source within CBP, the murder suspect, Roberto Emilio Vasquez-Santamaria, a 64-year-old Peruvian national, was released by Border Patrol to a non-government shelter in the city on May 9, 2023.

Exclusive: Biden’s DHS Leaves Miles of Border Wide Open as Migrant Crossings Spike

With more than 22,000 migrants being held in custody, a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the Border Patrol is being forced to cut routine patrols along the border. In some areas, highway inspection checkpoints have been closed to accommodate another increase in the number of migrant crossings. On Monday alone, the agency apprehended more than 7,700 migrants nationwide.

In what Border Patrol agents describe as a daily event, more than 300 mostly West African migrants walked through drainage gates in the border wall several miles west of Lukeville, Arizona. The group contained around forty migrants from Peru, India, Ecuador, and several Middle Eastern countries, according to Border Patrol agents who spoke to Breitbart Texas.

As Breitbart Texas observed the Arizona border this week, migrant groups continued to cross into the United States from a host of countries — including some considered by the DHS to be of special interest due to the prevalence of terrorism in that country or hostility to the United States. More than 300 migrants walked through open storm drain gates in the border wall just west of Lukeville to surrender to Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents early Tuesday morning. Breitbart Texas watched as the migrants queued at the border wall before walking through the Organ Pipe National Monument Reserve, hoping to gain release into the United States.
