The Chuck Hagel confirmation hearings are providing a rare moment of bipartisan consensus among observers, who agree that the Secretary of Defense nominee is blowing it:

He's been caught in one contradiction after another as he has been forced to defend a) his record and b) his recent conversions on just about every issue. Democrats are trying to help with friendly questions, but they're not enough to convince any objective observer--or even some supporters--that he's up to the task.
