President Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, denied over the weekend the $200,000 check he cut Joe Biden in 2018 was due to a pre-existing business relationship.

Joe Biden personally accepted money from his family’s overseas business ventures, despite denying his involvement in the business at least nine times, the House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) revealed Friday.

Comer characterized the $200,000 payment as shady because the money flowed through a distressed entity, Americore, that loaned James Biden a total of $600,000. On March 1, 2018, Americore wired James Biden $200,000. On the same day, James Biden cut Joe Biden a $200,000 check. Comer, a former bank board member of a local bank, said Friday he has no evidence of a loan agreement between the two brothers showing Joe Biden agreed to pay James Biden back.

“James Biden wrote this check to Joe Biden as a ‘loan repayment.’ Americore — a distressed company — loaned money to James Biden who then sent it to Joe Biden,” Comer said.

James Biden insists that Comer has bank documents that show Joe Biden lent James Biden money in January 2018, six weeks before James Biden cut Joe Biden a check for $200,000.

“The Committee has the bank documents that show both the loan Jim received from his brother in January 2018 and the repayment by check six weeks later,” James Biden’s attorney, Paul Fishman, told the Wall Street Journal. “At no time did Jim involve his brother in any of his business relationships.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the top-ranking Democrat on the Oversight Committee, appeared to defend the $200,000 payment on the same grounds, but raised questions about why Joe Biden would loan his brother money and for what purpose.

“The President was not involved in and did not profit from his family members’ business ventures,” Raskin said in a statement. “These records actually show that President Biden was the one who stepped in to help family members when they needed support, including by providing short term loans to his brother.”

The White House completely denied Joe Biden did anything wrong. “After rummaging through thousands of pages of a private citizen’s bank records, they have again turned up zero evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden — and that’s because there is none,” White House spokesperson Ian Sams said.

Comer says if James Biden actually did repay a $200,000 loan to Joe Biden, it would still implicate Joe Biden in his family’s business, dealings that Joe Biden repeatedly denied. “Even if this was a personal loan repayment, it’s still troubling that Joe Biden’s ability to be paid back by his brother depended on the success of his family’s shady financial dealings,” Comer said Friday.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) exclusively told Breitbart News the committee has financial records of James and Hunter Biden, and more information will come out related to the growing Biden family scandal. “We have more bank statements coming,” she said. “And we have more evidence coming so whatever they want to lie about, we will continue to prove that they are lying.”
