House Investigates Alleged CBP Retaliation Against Border Patrol Sector Chief

House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) and Chairman James Comer (R-KY) of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability are demanding answers from Customs and Border Protection officials regarding allegations of retaliation against a Border Patrol sector chief patrol agent. CBP officials reportedly relieved the chief of his command within hours of providing transcribed testimony before the committees.

50 Migrants Found in California Freight Trains near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents in Niland, California, discovered a group of migrants aboard a northbound freight train attempting to bypass the established highway checkpoint. In one event, agents found 26 migrants hiding in the rail cars. Information provided by the group led to the eventual arrest of an additional 16.

Injured Migrant Rescued in California Wilderness near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with other local and federal assets to rescue an injured migrant near the California border with Mexico. The search and rescue effort led to saving the life of a migrant who injured his ankle shortly after crossing the border near Ocotillo, California on Thursday morning.

Weapons Cache Found in Arizona Stash House near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents found a cache of semi-automatic rifles and pistols in a stash house near the Arizona border with Mexico. The discovery followed the discovery of a smuggling operation and led to the arrest of five migrants, including the smuggler.

Loaded Gun, Drugs Seized at California Checkpoint near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to an immigration checkpoint seized nearly 38 pounds of cocaine during an inspection. In a second incident at the same checkpoint, agents arrested an armed suspect found to be transporting cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

183-Foot Drug Smuggling Tunnel Found Under California-Mexico Border

An international law enforcement effort led to the discovery and shutdown of a 183-foot tunnel being built to smuggle drugs, weapons, and people under the border into California. The sophisticated tunnel utilized electricity, a ventilation system, a rail system, and an electric hoist to move their illicit cargo from Mexico to the U.S.

14 Migrants Rescued in California Wilderness near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued 14 migrants who became lost in the Jacumba Wilderness after illegally crossing from Mexico into California. The rescues occurred in separate incidents during a four-day period ending on June 20.

Smuggled Homicide Suspect Arrested in California near Border

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents interdicted a human smuggling attempt and discovered a fugitive homicide suspect embedded within the group. The agents arrested the man and turned him over to local police for extradition to Orange County, California.
