IOC Adds ‘Fortnite’ as an Olympic Esport

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the addition of Fortnite to the Olympic Esports Finals, with a special sharpshooting competition to take place on a Fortnite Creative Island.

International Olympic Committee Examining Raven Saunders ‘X’ Sign Protest

Silver medal-winning U.S. shot putter Raven Saunders reached skywards and crossed her arms in an “X” above her head Sunday in self-proclaimed support of all “oppressed peoples” as she posed for trackside photographers. Less than 24-hours later the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said it is looking into the display.

Tokyo Olympics Open with Muted Ceremony, Empty Stadium

TOKYO (AP) — Belated and beleaguered, the virus-delayed Tokyo Summer Olympics finally opened Friday night with cascading fireworks and made-for-TV choreography that unfolded in a near-empty stadium, a colorful but strangely subdued ceremony that set a striking tone to match a unique pandemic Games.
