Joey Chestnut, famed as the many-time winner of the Nathan’s hot dog eating championship, has pleaded guilty to a battery charge.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has plans to crash this year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest and ruin the return of longtime champ Joey Chestnut by luring fans away with vegan hot dogs, TMZ Sports reports.

Competitive eating champion Joey Chestnut will make his much-hoped-for return to the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Championship on July 4th, after missing out on last year’s contest over a sponsorship dispute.
