SINGAPORE, Nov. 12 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Pacific Rim ministers pledged Thursday to develop a unified growth strategy for the region in 2010 while accelerating efforts to seek the integration of their economies through freer trade and investment.

Tensions over global economic conditions have eased considerably, the foreign and trade ministers of the 21-member Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum said in a joint statement released after their two- day meeting in Singapore.

They also renewed their resolve to resist protectionism in international trade, warning the stalled Doha Round of trade liberalization talks under the World Trade Organization could miss its latest target deadline of 2010 unless member economies exercise "maximum flexibility."
