Survey data shows Poland’s patriotic, conservative government enjoying a huge lead in the polls, with the europhile opposition trailing by 30 points.

Warsaw-based pollster CBOS found backing for the ‘centrist’ Civic Platform (PO) — the party of current European Council head Donald Tusk, which headed the previous government in Poland — has fallen to just 14 per cent.

Showing a drop of three points from the previous month, the survey found support at its lowest level since November 2016 for the establishment party, which was voted out of office in 2015 after telling Brussels that Poland would take thousands of third world migrants under a new EU quota regime.

Support for Law and Justice (PiS) rose by one per cent, with 44 per cent of respondents expressing support for the ruling party, which was the first in the post-1989 era to win a mandate to govern the country unilaterally after promising to reverse PO’s pledge to take EU-imposed migrants.

In joint third place with 6 per cent were the liberal, free market Modern party, and Kukiz’15 — a eurosceptic party founded by former rock musician Pawel Kukiz, who last year accused PiS of being insufficiently opposed to mass migration.

Of the 1,092 adults surveyed by CBOS between March 1st and March 8th, 14 per cent said they were undecided on the issue of who they would vote for in an election.

Breitbart London previously reported research last year which found that young people in Poland were significantly more likely to describe themselves as right-wing than left-wing, with anti-establishment parties said to lie on the ‘radical right’ attracting the most support in the 15- to 24-year-old age range.

The survey found young Poles were increasingly rejecting mainstream parties with eurosceptic, anti-mass migration parties like Kukiz’15 attracting by far the most support from respondents.
