Mysterious Outbreak of Deadly Marburg Virus Spreads in Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea

The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) said on Thursday that eight new cases of the deadly Marburg disease have been reported in Equatorial Guinea, bringing the total of confirmed and probable cases to 20 since the mysterious outbreak began in February. Tanzania surprisingly reported five deaths this week in that country’s first known Marburg infections.

CDC Provides List of ‘Preferred Terms’: ‘Persons with Alcohol Use Disorder’

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) features a list full of “preferred” terms for certain population groups, preferring to call alcoholics “persons with alcohol use disorder,” the uninsured “people who are medically underserved,” and encouraging the use of the terms “pansexual” and “asexual” when referencing individuals who refuse to identify as male or female.

TIME Magazine: Exercise in U.S. Originated as ‘White Supremacy’ Project, Wrong to Presume Fat People ‘Not Fit’

Early 20th century pushes for exercise in the U.S. stemmed from “white supremacy” in order to produce “more white babies,” according to a TIME Magazine piece that also blamed the coronavirus pandemic for having “accelerated fitness inequality,” and alleged it is wrong to presume that fat people are “not fit” or that they “want to lose weight.”

Uzbekistan Blames Indian Cough Syrup for 18 Child Deaths

The Health Ministry of Uzbekistan on Wednesday blamed a cough syrup called Doc-1 Max, produced by a company in India called Marion Biotech, for the deaths of at least 18 children. Marion Biotech said it has halted production of the suspect medicine and is awaiting the results of an official inquiry.
