Sec. Mayorkas to Visit Texas Border on Eve of House Impeachment Proceedings

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will visit the border region with a quick stop in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Monday — just two days before he is slated to appear for impeachment proceedings before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Mayorkas visit will include meetings with local officials, Customs and Border Protection staff members, and Border Patrol officials from the Del Rio Sector.

Eagle Pass, Texas, Mayor Rolando Salinas took to social media this weekend to express his frustration with the surge of migrants flooding into his small city. Describing the constant flow of migrants into the city as an immigration disaster, Salinas chided Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for visiting Uvalde, Texas — a city 60 miles away from the border region — but failing to visit one of the busiest migrant crossing spots in Eagle Pass during the visit.

REP. GONZALES: Deaths at Border Reason Enough to Impeach Mayorkas

U.S. Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX) voiced his support for the latest attempt by Congress to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Gonzales cited the deaths of innocent American bystanders caused by the border crisis as one reason he supports the measure. Federal Judge Orders Biden Admin to Stop Cutting Texas Border Barriers

A federal judge in the Western District of Texas issued a Temporary Restraining Order against the Biden administration prohibiting the “disassembling, degrading, tampering with” border barriers put in place by the State of Texas. The move comes after multiple reports of Border Patrol agents cutting the concertina wire barriers put in place by order of the governor of Texas.
