Golden Globes Snubs Tom Cruise for Blockbuster ‘Top Gun’ Role After Star Protested Org’s Lack of Diversity

Tom Cruise was conspicuously absent from the best actor drama category in this year’s Golden Globes nominations for his performance in the blockbuster smash “Top Gun: Maverick.” Now a new report is claiming the snub is a direct result of the star’s recent decision to protest the Globes’ lack of diversity by returning the three statuettes he won in the past.

The Golden Globes was always a fake awards show and no one was more open about this than the Globes itself. Year after year, the televised ceremony made fun of its own lack of scruples, inviting the public to laugh along with the big joke. And everyone was happy to do so, especially NBC and the corporate entertainment media, which made a fortune on advertising.

L.A. Times: Hollywood Press Group That Selects Golden Globe Winners Has No Black Members

The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., the group behind the annual Golden Globes awards, has no black people in its membership and has reportedly rejected legitimate journalists in favor of those who aren’t serious journalists. The findings come just a week before the 78th Golden Globes ceremony is set to take place, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the show braodacasting on NBC on Sunday.
