Christopher Columbus Expert ‘Appalled’ by Notre Dame’s Censorship of Murals Featuring Explorer

The University of Notre Dame announced over the summer that it would cover 12 murals of Christopher Columbus with tapestries inspired by Native American artwork. Now former Stanford professor Carol Delaney, who wrote a book examining Christopher Columbus’ legacy, is speaking out.  Delaney says she is “appalled” by Notre Dame’s censorship, claiming Columbus is “not the man” social justice activists claim.

Pete Buttigieg Accepts Teaching Role at Notre Dame

Former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg announced this week that he will assume a teaching role at the University of Notre Dame for the upcoming academic year. Buttigieg will also conduct research on enhancing trust in the American government.

Notre Dame to Reopen Campus in August, End Fall Semester Early

The University of Notre Dame announced on Monday that the fall semester will begin on campus on August 10 and conclude before Thanksgiving. The university claims that it will utilize contact tracing, social distancing rules, and mask requirements to mitigate the spread of the Chinese virus on campus.
