Fugitive Accused in Rape of Nebraska Teen Now in Texas Jail

A man accused of raping a 14-year-old Nebraska girl is finally behind bars after he posted a low bond and fled the country. Deputy U.S. Marshals delivered the fugitive from justice to the Montgomery County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office jail where he awaits extradition to Nebraska.

Mexican Cops Capture, Kill Most Escaped Cartel Inmates from Juarez Prison

Mexican authorities have managed to arrest or kill at least 20 of the 30 cartel-connected inmates who escaped from a state prison in Ciudad Juarez where they killed 12 guards. As part of a series of ongoing raids into the prison facility, authorities found contraband including, large TVs, alcohol, a jacuzzi, and even a mechanical bull.

485K Migrants Apprehended this Year in Texas-Based Border Sectors

Border Patrol agents assigned to the five Texas-based border sectors apprehended nearly 485,000 migrants who crossed the border from Mexico into this border region since October 1, 2022. This represents nearly 64 percent of all migrant crossings along the southwest border with Mexico.

Major Sheriff’s Associations Call for ‘Eradication’ of Mexican Drug Cartels 

The largest sheriff’s associations in the country called for the eradication of Mexican drug cartels and for the public to pressure their elected officials to do something about it. The groups called for action to start against the two most powerful criminal organizations in Mexico. The call for action by the sheriffs comes follows 21 state attorneys general called for cartels to be designated as terrorist organizations.
