A 29-year-old Honduran mother of two died while in the custody of a Biden administration migrant detention center after she crossed the border from Mexico into Texas. The woman had no apparent illness or other affliction prior to being found unresponsive in her cell.

In the aftermath of a fire that killed at least 38 migrants inside an immigration detention center in Ciudad Juarez, a leaked surveillance video revealed that agents apparently left the migrants inside behind locked doors. Additionally, reports say the fire took place in a secure area where the migrants are not allowed to have lighters or matches.

A 38-year-old migrant from Morocco died in an Italian detention centre this week after another migrant set his mattress on fire in a protest against the living conditions in the centre.

A group of migrants are alleged to have set a detention facility on fire this week after what was claimed to be a coordinated action.

Police in Tacoma, Washington, say they shot and killed a man armed with a rifle and throwing flammable objects at a migrant detention center.  The attack followed a rally outside the facility by several hours. The motivation of the attacker has not been released at this time.
