Texas Bill Requiring Sheriffs to Work with ICE Moves Closer to Governor’s Desk

The Texas Legislature is one step closer to requiring the sheriffs of the state’s largest counties to enter into cooperation agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The Texas Senate passed SB8 in April and forwarded the legislation to the House. On Saturday, the House passed the third reading of the bill.

275 Illegal Aliens Arrested in 7-Day San Antonio ICE Raids

Texas University Discriminates Against Non-Spanish-Speaking Professors, Says Lawsuit

A lawsuit filed in federal court by three female professors claims that university officials are looking into establishing a bilingual university with course credit classes in Spanish and hiring only Spanish-speaking professors. The three professors claimed to have been racially discriminated against because they are not Hispanic — one is of African origin, while the other two are Asian.

Border Patrol Agents Asked to Help with Interior Mass Deportation Operations

On Tuesday, an internal agency-wide email was sent to Border Patrol stations, soliciting volunteers from rank-and-file Border Patrol agents and managers to assist DHS with deportation operations away from the immediate border area. Cartel Gunmen Clash with Rivals in Mexican Border State, Flee Before Cops Arrive

Gunmen from the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas carried out a large-scale attack on a rival group of gunmen near a small rural community in the Mexican border state of Nuevo Leon. The fighting went on for over an hour, involving several armored vehicles, high-powered weapons, and explosives. By the time authorities responded, the gunmen had fled, taking at least five bodies of fallen gunmen but leaving several burned-out armored trucks.
