Joe Manchin Under Fire: Pressure Mounts in WV on Kavanaugh Vote

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was told by passers by at Sunday’s West Virginia Pumpkin Festival in Milton, WV, to vote in favor of confirming Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. He sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee and has abstained from committing to vote one way or another, claiming to want more time to consider Kavanaugh’s nomination.

President Donald Trump will hold a Saturday evening rally in Wheeling, West Virginia, for GOP Senate candidate and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. Trump arrives in West Virginia a day after Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said he would vote to move Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote out of committee so long as the FBI conducts a one-week investigation into Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations. President Donald Trump will hold a rally in West Virginia tonight for GOP Senate candidate Patrick Morrisey hours after Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen agreed to a plea deal after being charged with eight counts and Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, was convicted on eight counts, including bank and tax fraud.
