Cartel Gunmen Ambush Mexican Border State Cops near Texas

Gunmen with the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas wounded two Mexican police officers during an ambush-style attack. The attack is the third of its kind since Thursday, as police and military forces attempt to hold back the CDN-Los Zetas from setting up operations in Coahuila. The CDN-Los Zetas is one of six Mexican cartels designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the U.S. government.

Cartel Gunmen Ambush Mexican Soldiers near Texas Border

The Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas carried out two ambush-style attacks on Mexican military forces just south of the Texas border. In one of those attacks, cartel gunmen allegedly tried to kidnap two soldiers. The CDN-Los Zetas is one of six Mexican cartels designated as foreign terrorist groups by the U.S. government.

Two brothers who were the supreme leaders of Los Zetas cartel are currently facing a possible life term in prison or a death sentence if they are convicted of the numerous charges against them filed against them by U.S. prosecutors. Earlier this year, the U.S. government designated Los Zetas, who have rebranded as Cartel Del Noreste (CDN), as one of six Mexican cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO).

The man responsible for establishing a reign of terror in part of Mexico’s northern border region pleaded guilty to several drug trafficking and money laundering charges in a U.S. federal court. He is facing a possible life term in prison. That cartel boss is not only responsible for ordering hundreds of forced disappearances and establishing clandestine gravesites in northern Mexico but his gunmen are directly linked to a brazen attack on the U.S. Consulate building in Nuevo Laredo.

Underage Teen Identified as Gunman Killed in Mexican Border City Shootout

After days of not hearing from their loved one, family members identified the body of a teenager who had just turned 17. The teen was found after several days spent in a city morgue following a shootout with authorities in the Mexican border state of Coahuila. The teen was one of two gunmen killed when a large number of gunmen tried to enter the region.

In Piedras Negras, Mexico, where migrants once surged into the city after disembarking from freight trains, the streets were void of the arrivals that had become commonplace during the recent months’ migrant crisis. The precipitous drop comes as authorities in Mexico began removing migrants from a train route known as “La Bestia.” Breitbart visited Piedras Negras, Mexico, this week only to find increased military patrols and only a very small number of migrants poised to cross into the United States into Eagle Pass.

Photos Show Migrants Forcing Way Through Texas Border Barriers

Several groups of migrants entered the water of the Rio Grande headed to Eagle Pass, Texas, despite repeated attempts to deter their access by Mexico’s National Guard soldiers. The migrants thwarted the soldiers’ attempts to capture them, ultimately entering the water and heading straight into the layers of concertina wire and cargo containers placed along the United States bank of the river.
