18K Migrant Gotaways Reported in 1st 16 Days of New Year, Says USBP Chief

Border Patrol officials report that more than 18,000 migrants are known to have crossed the border without being apprehended during the first 16 days of FY24. During that same period, dozens of “Special Interest Aliens” from countries known to have ties to terrorism were apprehended. These two reports beg the question of just how many “Special Interest Aliens” are included in the gotaways.

FACT CHECK: DHS Touts Drop in Migrant Encounters After Title 42, Ushers 50K in Through ‘Lawful Pathways’

The Department of Homeland Security claims the Biden-Harris administration’s comprehensive plan to manage the border after the expiration of Title 42 resulted in a significant reduction in encounters at the Southwest Border. Migrant Apprehensions Jump to 182K in Last Full Month of Title 42

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 182,000 migrants during the month of April — the last full month of the CDC’s Title 42 migrant expulsion program. The latest report from CBP confirms Breitbart Texas’ article on May 3 revealing the third straight month of increased apprehensions along the border.

Texas Troopers Helping Reduce Number of Migrant Got-Aways near Border

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers assigned to Operation Lone Star are making headway in reducing the number of migrant got-aways making their way into the U.S. interior. Troopers track down migrants making their way through ranches located as far as 80-100 miles away from the Mexican border in addition to those being smuggled in vehicles, rail cars, and tractor-trailers.

EXCLUSIVE: 100K Migrant ‘Got-Aways’ Since October, Says CBP Source

Border Patrol agents estimate more than 100,000 known migrant got-aways since the fiscal year began in October. A source operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the agency recorded 47,500 got-a-ways during the month of October. That is followed by an additional 52,000 got-aways in November. The source believes the increase in November means more than 600,000 migrant got-aways will be recorded this fiscal year if the trend continues.
