A Texas border sheriff reports human smugglers are forcing vehicle pursuits on an alarming basis. The sheriff fears innocent people and migrants could be injured due to recklessness.

San Diego Sector Border Patrol officials announced an alarming trend of “dangerous failure-to-yield” incidents involving human smugglers. Officials say the 475 percent increase in pursuits in October led to crashes causing serious injuries and hospitalizations.

An alleged pair of female human smugglers led Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a pursuit with five migrants on board. The armed driver lost control and crashed following the lengthy pursuit.

A suspected human smuggler is in federal custody after he allegedly shot at Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop. None were injured during the shooting.

An alleged human smuggler attempted to run a Border Patrol vehicle off the road during a pursuit near the Arizona border with Mexico, officials stated. The pursuit came after border wall security contractors observed a breach in the wall west of San Luis, Arizona.

An alleged human smuggler opened fire on Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents during a vehicle pursuit Monday. The chase began after the alleged human smuggler sped through an immigration checkpoint south of Casa Grande, Arizona.

The pursuit of a human smuggler which began in California and crossed into Arizona ended in a major crash that sent one innocent motorist to a hospital. The chase resulted in the arrest of a previously convicted smuggler and the apprehension of four migrants.
