A federal court in Del Rio, Texas, sentenced an Ecuadorian national on Wednesday to 84 months in prison and five years of supervised release for possession of child sexual abuse materials. The sentencing of the 27-year-old migrant from Cuenca Provincia, Azuay, Ecuador follows a July 2021 bench trial where the court found him guilty of possessing a large trove of pornographic images involving child sexual abuse.

A source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection says a group of nearly 1,000 frustrated migrants attempted to force their way into the United States at the Paso de Norte International Bridge in El Paso. The group of mostly single adult migrants forced their way past Mexican immigration authorities and attempted to breach the United States Port of Entry by force on Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement officers in Zavala County, Texas, report a serious uptick in organized migrant smuggling activity on county roads and highways in recent weeks.
