EAGLE PASS, Texas — Texas Army National Guard soldiers along with Highway Patrol converged on the busiest section of the U.S.-Mexico border in preparation for an even greater wave of migrants once the CDC Title 42 authority ends. More than 100 soldiers and troopers conducted initial drills ahead of the next surge.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Military Department to begin mass migration response rehearsals along the state’s border with Mexico. The order comes in response to the Biden Administration’s plans to cancel the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol, which is expected to drive the already record-setting number of 8,000 migrants to more than 18,000 a day, per a federal estimate.

In a leaked report from the Department of Homeland Security, officials noted that only a low percentage of migrants released under the Biden Administration’s Alternative to Detention program show up for removal proceedings. The report notes “there is no evidence that a higher percentage of noncitizens will report for removal proceedings in the future if released, regardless of how expeditiously they are processed.”

El Paso Sector Border Patrol officials report a trend where adult migrants attempt to pass themselves off as unaccompanied minors. The agents uncovered 23 such attempts so far this fiscal year.

Border Patrol agents in South Texas apprehended more than 270 migrants packed in tractor-trailers at interior immigration checkpoints during the past week. The arrests took place in five separate smuggling incidents.

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents found five unaccompanied migrant children along the Texas side of the Rio Grande. One of the children, a six-year-old boy, suffered an injury while crossing the river by himself.

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a pair of heavily armed human smugglers at an interior immigration checkpoint in New Mexico as they attempted to move 18 migrants in a U-Haul trailer.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents pursuing a suspected human smuggling vehicle observed three migrants being pushed from the moving pickup truck. The migrants, including a minor, sustained serious injuries and had to be transported to a hospital.

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents found groups of migrants being smuggled in dangerous situations. One included a migrant stuffed under the floorboard of an SUV.

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents utilized high-tech surveillance systems and teamed up with Texas law enforcement to apprehend groups of migrants attempting to avoid arrest.

The apprehension of migrants illegally crossing the border in the Del Rio Sector continues at a record-setting pace, according to Border Patrol officials. The tactic of crossing large groups strains resources and manpower in one of the nation’s busiest sectors.

Horse Patrol Units in the Tucson Sector interdicted multiple human smuggling incidents near the border in southern Arizona. In one of the incidents, the horse-mounted agents teamed up with a Border Patrol K-9 team to locate hiding migrants.

Border Patrol agents along the southwest border with Mexico apprehended multiple previously deported sex offenders after they illegally re-entered the U.S. Some of the arrested had convictions for sexual offenses involving children.

Uvalde, Texas, police officers found a group of migrants packed inside a dump trailer about 50 miles north of the border with Mexico.

A federal court sentenced two soldiers from Fort Hood, Texas, to prison following an incident where they conspired to smuggle migrants from the border region into the U.S. interior. The two soldiers received sentences of 24 and 30 months after pleading guilty in January.

A Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper and National Guard soldiers apprehended a pair of human smugglers near the border in Laredo, Texas. Video released by the State shows a pursuit ending as the smugglers bail out of the moving truck and leave migrants, including children, to fend for themselves.

The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is dominated with large groups of migrants crossing the border. The detention centers in this sector are substantially overcrowded forcing the rapid release of migrants into the communities along the border.

Video from the Texas Department of Public Safety shows what appears to be a Gulf Cartel gunman pointing an AK-47 rifle at a helicopter aircrew as they patrolled the border in Starr County. The gunman eventually flees and Mexican law enforcement responds to the area.

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents rescued a four-year-old girl after human smugglers carried her across the Rio Grande and abandoned her on the riverbank. The little girl is the same age as another child who recently drowned in this area after being swept from the mother’s arms.

Federal officials report a spike in the number of migrants drowning in the Rio Grande while attempting to illegally cross the border from Mexico. In the last two weeks, at least 10 drowned in the Del Rio Sector, according to a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

A high-level source within the Department of Homeland Security says the agency set a tentative date of April 1, 2022, to end the emergency Centers for Disease Control and Prevention migrant expulsion authority, Title 42. The move, according to the source has the agency scrambling to deal with the mass migration event expected to hit the U.S./Mexico border as a result of the action.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents interdicted a human smuggling incident involving a tractor-trailer. After the driver attempted to flee, agents eventually found 115 migrants, including three children, locked inside the trailer.

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended multiple migrant groups attempting to sneak into the U.S. interior with being arrested. Agents teamed up with Texas law enforcement to make arrests of camouflage-wearing migrants hiding in the brush.

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents found an unaccompanied five-year-old boy at a Rio Grande crossing point near Eagle Pass, Texas. The child, traveling with a group of 83 migrants, had no parents with him or contact information for family members.

Migrant apprehensions in February jumped to nearly 160,000 after declining one month earlier.

EAGLE PASS, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott said the election of Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke in November would lead to the elimination of border security in Texas. The governor responded to Breitbart Texas about O’Rourke’s claim that deploying the National Guard to the border was a “solution in search of a problem.”
