Smugglers Abandon Small Migrant Child at Border in West Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found a small migrant child who human smugglers abandoned after putting him on the international border crossing from Mexico. The smugglers moved the child across the international boundary mark on the Paso Del Norte border crossing and instructed him to walk north.

Democrat Reps Call for Investigation into Texas Border Security Operation

A group of 26 Democrat representatives called on the federal government to launch an investigation into Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s “Operation Lone Star” border enforcement operation. In a letter, led by San Antonio Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and United States Attorney General Merrick Garland, the members of Congress requested an immediate investigation into what they believe is Abbott’s effort to create a “separate state immigration policy”.

Texas Border County Government Coalition Forms to Demand More Help from Austin

UVALDE, Texas – The local governments of Kinney County, Uvalde County, and the City of Uvalde joined to form a commission to help residents negatively impacted by the ongoing border crisis. The local coalition is authorized under Section 391 of the Texas Local Government Code. At the first meeting, commission members demanded action and answers of representatives from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).
