Disney Promotes Gina Carano for an Emmy Award After Firing the ‘Mandalorian’ Star

With awards season just around the corner, Hollywood studios are highlighting and promoting their series’ stars for nominations. Now Disney is promoting actress Gina Carano prominently on their “For Your Consideration” poster, pushing her for a Supporting Actress nod for her role in The Mandolorian. The move comes just three months after Carona was ostensibly fired and removed from all future roles for Lucasfilm and Disney projects.

Emmys: Jimmy Kimmel and Anthony Anderson Chant Black Lives Matter

The 72nd Emmy Awards host Jimmy Kimmel joined Black-ish star Anthony Anderson in a chant of “Black Lives Matter” during the live broadcast on Sunday, in a skit that saw Anderson lament how the awards show was forced to go virtual, stopping all the black nominees and winners from basking in their victory together.

Woke Emmys Fail: Ratings Hit Record Low

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards on Fox drew a record low viewership on Sunday as TV fans opted to tune out of the telecast that featured woke celebrities lecturing America on issues including the gender pay gap and transgender rights.
