Broadway Veteran Nick Cordero Dies from Coronavirus Complications

NEW YORK — Tony Award-nominated actor Nick Cordero, who specialized in playing tough guys on Broadway in such shows as “Waitress,” “A Bronx Tale” and “Bullets Over Broadway,” has died in Los Angeles after suffering severe medical complications after contracting the coronavirus. He was 41.

Hollywood Unions Want Tax Relief from Congress As Coronavirus Decimates Production

Hollywood unions are asking Congress for tax relief as TV and movie production has come to a halt around the country due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. The industry-wide work stoppage has put thousands of rank-and-file actors, writers, musicians, and crew members out of work with no sign yet as to when production activity will resume.

Broadway Shows in New York Canceled for a Month Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

In an unprecedented move, all Broadway shows in New York will shut down immediately for a month on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s orders banning public gatherings of more than 500 people. The decision will almost certainly deal a significant blow to the city’s billion dollar theater industry and the many ancillary businesses that depend on it, including numerous restaurants in the midtown area that rely heavily on pre-show theatergoers.
