Large Migrant Group Arrested in Rural West Texas Town near Border

Border Patrol agents arrested nearly 200 migrants shortly after they crossed the Rio Grande in Normandy, Texas. The Border Patrol is seeing an increase in migrant traffic choosing to ford the river into the town. EAGLE PASS, Texas — In separate events, local Border Patrol Agents and their Brackettville-stationed colleagues apprehended migrants from two counties designated by the Department of Homeland Security as “special interest.” The arrests triggered immediate reporting to DHS headquarters. According to a source within Customs and Border Protection, the incidents occurred on Monday and involved one group of 13 Eritreans and a separate family of three from Uzbekistan.

EXCLUSIVE: 60K Migrants Released into U.S. in October

A source within Customs and Border Protection says more than 60,000 migrants who crossed the southwest border in October 2021 were released into the United States. The source, not authorized to speak to the media, says 40 percent were ineligible to be swiftly expelled under the Trump era Title 42 CDC COVID-19 emergency order.
