Dollar trades at upper 89 yen in early trading in Tokyo+

TOKYO, Nov. 9 (AP) - (Kyodo)—The U.S. dollar traded at the upper 89 yen level early Monday in Tokyo after hitting a three-week local high of 89.60 yen Friday in New York.

At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 89.86-90 yen versus 89.83-93 yen in New York and 90.45-46 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.

The euro traded at $1.4863-4866 and 133.60-62 yen against $1.4843- 4853 and 133.37-47 yen in New York and $1.4876-4878 and 134.56-60 yen in Tokyo late Friday.

In New York on Friday, the dollar came under selling pressure after a government report showed the U.S. jobless rate shot up to 10.2 percent in October, the highest in 26 years and six months.
