A suicide bomber killed three people, including a policeman, in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Monday, local media reported.
Police were quoted as saying the blast was caused by a suicide bomber traveling by rickshaw who blew himself up with 5-6 kilograms of explosives after police signaled him to pull over at a police picket in the Patang Chawk area of Peshawar.
Geo TV reported that those killed by the bomber comprised a policeman, a rickshaw driver and a passerby.
It said police believe the bomber was heading for another target when he was stopped en route, possible averting a more deadly attack.
Besides the four fatalities, another five people were injured, including two other policemen, Aaj TV reported.
On Oct. 28, more than 100 people were killed in a huge explosion at a busy market in Peshawar, while more than 60 were killed in two separate attacks in the city earlier the same month.
Pakistani Taliban militants have been staging such attacks as the Pakistan Army continues its operation against the militants in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.
