USPS to Launch New Clothing Line

Who are you wearing? Why USPS, of course.

The cash-strapped agency announced plans on Tuesday to launch a new line
of all-weather apparel and accessories sometime next year.

Ladies, don’t get too excited, the line will only feature menswear to start.

“This agreement will put the Postal Service on the cutting edge of functional fashion,” agency licensing manager Steven Mills said in a statement. “The main focus will be to produce Rain Heat & Snow apparel and accessories using technology to create ‘smart apparel’ — also known as wearable electronics.”

The products will be available in “premium department stores” starting in 2014. The USPS is looking for revenue generating opportunties and also to strengthen the brand. (What?!?) Spokesman Roy Betts said “This is one effort among many that the Postal Service is undertaking to respond to the changing dynamics of the marketplace.”

No word as to whether you can order the USPS clothes by mail, but my suggestion is to have it delivered UPS if you can.
